Die Cut Electrically Conductive Cushioning Gaskets
Die cut electrically conductive cushioning gaskets are compressible tapes that provide EMI shielding, grounding, and conductivity. They have excellent cushioning properties and provide outstanding gap filling performance. These die cut tapes provide electrical conductivity through their thickness (Z-axis) and in the plane of the adhesive (X-Y axes). They are used between common substrates such as metal surfaces, and are also suitable for metal-plated substrates.
As a 3M™ Select Converter, JBC Technologies can source the electrically conductive cushioning gasket materials that you need, convert them cost-effectively, and then die cut EMI shielding tapes to your precise specifications. JBC can also help you to determine whether you need die cut electrically conducive gaskets, die cut metal shielding gaskets, or die cut electrically conductive acrylic pads.
Die Cut Electrically Conductive Gaskets
Die cut electrically conductive gaskets (ECG) are single-coated and double-coated conductive foam products that are less than 1 mm thick. 3M™ ECG-70 gasket materials have a single-sided, single-coated pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). 3M™ ECG-80 gasket materials have a double-sided, double-coated PSA. This nickel-filled, acrylic adhesive provides excellent electrical conductivity and reliable adhesion. The conductive core for die cut ECG is made of a metal-plated, open cell urethane foam.
Die Metal Shielding Gaskets
Die cut metal shielding gaskets (MSG) are single-coated conductive foam products with a carrier layer that’s either a metal foil or a magnetic foil tape. These 3M™ gasket materials have a metal-plated, open cell foam core and a nickel-filled acrylic conductive adhesive on one side. Die cut MSG offer XYZ electrical conductivity and provides strong adhesion to many substrates. They are soft like other die cut electrically conductive cushioning gaskets, but offer the greatest amount of conformability.
Die Cut Electrically Conductive Acrylic Pads
Die cut electrically conductive acrylic pads (eCAP) are single-coated acrylic conductive gaskets with a solid core and a conductive fabric carrier. Both the core and the adhesive are made of an acrylic adhesive that’s filled with nickel-coated graphite. Die cut eCAP provide good adhesion to many substrates and come in standard thicknesses of 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 mm. Like other die cut electrically conductive cushioning gaskets, they also provide grounding and EMI shielding.
