It's time for another edition of Faces of JBC, the series where we shine a light on those important individuals who are essential to our success as a company. These employees are the unsung heroes of JBC, and work day in and day out to make sure operations run smoothly. 

For today's edition, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Mere Castillo, a production associate at our North Ridgeville location to learn more about their role at JBC. Learn how Mere's position plays into day-to-day logistical operations, and what they love most about their work environment. 

Why did you decide to go into the role of distribution associate and what do you like most about it?  

I sought this role because it was a new career path for me, and I find it interesting to inquire about the different parts we make for each industry.  

Describe your role at JBC and how it fits in with the big picture: 

Mainly, what I do is collect customer inventory, place each shipment in the correct area per customer request, and validate all shipments before they leave our dock. In the big picture, I help ensure we deliver the right product to the customer which is an integral part of our operations.  

What attracted you to JBC and what is your favorite part of your distribution associate role? 

The ability to think freely to create new/added benefit systems for the company is what attracted me to the role. My favorite parts of my role are the knowledge and overall atmosphere, the incredible people to work with, the unlimited possibilities, the ability to take chances, and the ability to never stop growing.

Hard-working people who are thoroughly proud of the work we contribute to the company.  

What is the best/most unique part about working at JBC? 

The areas we have branched out (Aerospace, Medical, and HVAC).

So far, what has been your favorite project since working here? 

One important project we undertook was organizing our workspace in the shipping department as we saw fit to establish an effective workflow.
