Faces of JBC - Yozaleth Mendoza

Faces of JBC - Yozaleth Mendoza

“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson

Welcome back to Faces of JBC, where we take a look at the behind-the-scenes heroes who work tirelessly to ensure we're performing at our best. For today's edition, we're shining a light on Yozaleth Mendoza who works in shipping and receiving at our Northglenn, Colorado Center of Excellence.

Let's get to know Yoza...

Why did you decide to go into shipping and receiving and what do you like most about it?

There was an opportunity to do this role and when it was offered to me, I didn't even think about it and said yes right away. I like the physical work you have to do in this position; this was one of the first positions I started working in the company a long time ago and I loved it then, and I love it now.

Describe your role at JBC and how it fits with the big picture.

I see shipping as the last step of production and receiving as the first. In receiving, I inspect the quantity and quality of the incoming materials. For shipping, with the help of my teammates we make sure that everything is shipped on time. That is our goal every day. My role also includes cycle counts for inventory.

What attracted you to JBC and what is your favorite part of your shipping and receiving role?

I like working at JBC because there is a great work environment and my favorite part of shipping and receiving is the satisfaction of having everything ready at the end of the day. Sometimes we struggle but one way or another we get it done.

Tell us about the team you work on.

Without my team, it would be impossible to succeed. They are always willing to help and even if you think something is impossible to do, they make it happen.

The best part about working at JBC Technologies is the team and the work environment we have. Yes, sometimes it’s hard but in the end, it is rewarding to know that we did our best to complete the day’s work.

So far, what has been your favorite project since working here?

It might sound weird to others, but I really enjoy putting pallets together because I feel like I'm playing Tetris.

How do you feel you have grown professionally/expectations for professional growth?

At JBC there is always room to grow, and there are always resources available to help us achieve and reach our potential.

Can you describe your job/company in three words?

Loyalty, proactive and diversity.

What are you most proud of while working here @ JBC?

The quality of the products we manufacture for our customers.

What is your greatest motivation?

My greatest work motivation is the people I work with and being able to help in whatever I can and when I can.

What are some of your interests outside of work?

Shopping and chilling out with my dog.

What is something about you that most people don’t know?

A year after having COVID, I discovered that I could practically eat fire by eating spicy foods without feeling a thing. I also love listening to ghost stories podcasts.
