3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesive Film AF 163-2
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ AF 163-2 is a thermosetting modified epoxy structural adhesive film designed for use in solid panel and honeycomb sandwich constructions. With a broad temperature range and low-pressure bonding capabilities, AF 163-2 is a great option for attaching brightness mitigation panels to satellites when paired with a microchannel liner. The microchannel liner allows trapped air to escape during application, ensuring a durable bond in harsh space environments.
3M™ Two-Sided Metalized Polyester Tape 8437
With a thin polyester backing and a metalized coating on both sides, 3M™ Metalized Tape 8437 is a lightweight, high-performance mirror film. Due to its low solar absorption rate, 3M™ 8437 Tape is a great option for performing brightness mitigation while keeping satellite internals cool.
3M™ Enhanced Specular Reflector Films
Used primarily in automotive and consumer electronics liquid crystal displays, 3M™ Enhanced Specular Reflector Film is a halogen-free film highly reflective across the visible light spectrum. When coated with silver, Specular Reflector Film becomes a high-performance brightness mitigation material.

Sheldahl™ Silver FEP with Inconel Overcoat
Sheldahl™ FEPs with Silver Inconel Overcoats are utilized as second surface mirrors for low solar absorptance and high emittance in orbital satellite applications. These silver FEPs can be combined with acrylic PSAs and ITO layers for optimized functionality and brightness mitigation effects. Available with FEP layers of 0.5, 1, 2, 5, or 10 mil thick, Sheldahl™ applies an Inconel overcoat to the silver to prevent oxidation in space.
